Borussia Dortmund face competition from their Champions League group stage rivals Inter Milan in the race to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Just three points separate second placed Dortmund with third placed Inter in Group F with two games remaining.

And according to FourFourTwo, the pair will face off against each other in the transfer market in January as they prepare respective moves for Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman face an uncertain future at Chelsea and has been rumoured to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in the winter window, with the striker’s contract with the Blues set to expire next summer.

A January move for Giroud would certainly make sense for Dortmund, with the Frenchman able to offer the Bundesliga side a different attacking threat up front.

The 33-year-old would be an affordable option as well given his contract status, with Chelsea said to value the striker in the region of £5million.
