RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano may be more likely to leave the Bundesliga giants in 2020, following reports from L’Equipe that his release clause will be lowered to €60 million, as cited by football.london.

The highly regarded 20-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer with Unai Emery’s Arsenal very keen to bring the Frenchman to the Emirates.

It was reported that Arsenal had a bid in the region of €60 million rejected by Leipzig and they were told to look elsewhere – which is why they sought out William Saliba and David Luiz instead.

In Leipzig’s fantastic season last year, where they finished in the top four and gained a Champions League spot, the Frenchmen featured quite rarely. Unfortunately for the youngster, he only played in 22 games across all competitions, which would have certainly halted his development as a player.

Luckily though, it looks as if he is back to full fitness and would be a fantastic coup for any club who is interested in signing him.

Upamecano is one of the highest rated young prospects in the world and could easily reach the very top of European football.
