The England Under-21 international was a target for the Bundesliga outfit last summer, but no move materialised.
However, this time around, it seems Lookman will be headed to Leipzig to complete a permanent deal following his successful loan spell at the club in the second half of the 2017/18 season.
During his brief stint in Germany, the versatile forward scored five goals from just 11 outings, flourishing under the management of Ralph Hasenhuttl.
New Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has evidently seen fit to pursue Lookman permanently, and with a deal worth £22.5 million agreed, as per McNulty’s claims, the Bundesliga team are set to finally get their man.
How Lookman scored his five goals at Leipzig in 2017/18
