Serge Gnabry admits he would “love” to play alongside Leroy Sane at Bayern Munich.
Sane experienced a frustrating season at Manchester City, despite it culminating in Pep Guardiola’s side winning an unprecedented domestic treble.
The German often found himself behind Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva in the pecking order, leading to question marks surrounding his future.
Bayern are interested in bringing Sane to the club this summer and have reportedly already had a big-money bid rejected.
The Bundesliga champions are not giving up hope just yet, though, as they look to replace departing legends Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
Someone who is keen to see Sane join Bayern is Germany teammate Gnabry, who has become a key figure at the Allianz Arena in recent times.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, the former Arsenal man talked up a potential move for the 23-year-old:
I would say hello to him with a special handshake.
I’ve already asked him about this topic, but he is the only one who can tell us what will happen.
I would love to have him in my team. We are getting along really well, also off the pitch.
He would help any team and it’s very fun for me to play with him. He would be a real asset for Bayern Munich.
It would still be a surprise if City were willing to sell Sane, despite his lack of playing time.
His potential is enormous and there is no reason why he won’t become a regular eventually.
