Callum Hudson-Odoi is still a Summer target for Bayern Munich despite picking up an Achilles injury on Monday night against Burnley.

The Bavarian giants had bids rebuffed for the young English forward last January, with Chelsea trying to keep the forward at the club.

Hudson-Odoi faces a long spell out on the sidelines thanks to the injury. However, Bayern have not changed their transfer plans for this Summer, despite the fact the striker looks set to miss the start of next season, with Achillies injuries taking an average of six months to properly heal.

According to the Evening Standard, Bayern Chairman Uli Hoeness has confirmed that the plans for the striker have not yet changed despite his injury.

The Bayern chief said:

(Chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and (sporting director) Hasan Salihamidzic have said that he is an interesting player.

I think we keep thinking about it. But he’s just (been) on the operating table. Therefore it makes no sense to comment on this.

The forward only has a deal left the run on his contract at Chelsea, with the club wanting to keep Hudson-Odoi at the club.

The Blues offered him a deal in January to keep him at the club, but it is believed that a dispute over playing time is the main reason that the striker declined the offer.
