Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly picked out Jadon Sancho as his number one target as part of his overhaul at Old Trafford, as a report from the Mirror reveals his summer transfer budget.
The Dortmund attacker has been truly magnificent in his breakout season in Germany. He has scored 11 goals and notched 18 assists as he has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in world football.
The 19-year-old’s fine form was rewarded with his first senior England call-ups this season and he impressed in each game for his national team.
He will now be seen as one of Dortmund’s most prized assets and it will take a very large fee for them to be willing to part with their star man.
United will ultimately face competition to get their man. But there is no doubt that they will have the funds to get Sancho with a £250m war chest being given to new permanent manager Solskjaer.
The Premier League side were handily beaten by Spanish giants Barcelona in the week and despite them improving under their new boss, they are still some way off the world’s best.
There is expected to be a big clear out at Old Trafford this summer with the likes of Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez among those anticipated to depart.
With a few big earners leaving this will free up a lot of United’s wages, allowing Solskjaer to put his own stamp on his new team with some marquee signings.
Along with Sancho, other players Man United are looking at according to the Daily Mirror, are Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ajax’s captain Matthijs de Ligt.
