According to Calcio Mercato, RB Leipzig are looking to make the loan of Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe a permanent deal this summer.
The 18-year-old signed for the German club in January on an initial six-month loan deal from Unai Emery’s side.
But the attacking midfielder has missed a lot of game time since joining because he had not recovered properly from a previous groin injury.
Smith Rowe finally made his Bundesliga debut when he returned from injury last weekend. He came on as a late substitute in RB Leipzig’s 2-0 home win against Wolfsburg.

If he does decide to remain in Germany on a permanent basis, he will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow England youngsters Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson who are shining in the Bundesliga.
Smith Rowe told Arsenal’s official YouTube channel when he signed that he thinks “the Bundesliga is a really good league.”
There are a lot of good players here and big teams as well. It’s like the Premier League really. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Schalke – all big teams, all Champions League teams really. I think it’s a great opportunity.
I think it’s definitely a big step at such a young age, but I think that’s a great experience, seeing Reiss and other young players take the step, obviously doing well and enjoying themselves, that has really boosted my confidence.
