Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi could be on his way back to the Bundesliga, according to reports.
As per the Express, as cited on Football London, the Belgian striker could return to Borussia Dortmund, but only if they can stump up the necessary cash to sign him from the Blues at the end of the season.
It is looking increasingly unlikely that the Belgian will break through at Stamford Bridge and his previous stint in the Bundesliga could see him return to Germany.
After falling out of favour at Chelsea last season, Batshuayi headed to Dortmund for the remainder of the campaign.
During his time in the Bundesliga, the striker thrived and was being tipped to complete a permanent move before a serious injury cut his season short.
The report claims that the striker may well be available for a fee of around £40 million, but it remains to be seen if Dortmund will splash the cash after the form Paco Alcacer has shown this season.
The pros and cons of a move to Dortmund for Batshuayi
Pro: It's where he showed his best form
Batshuayi showed arguably the best form of his career during his time with Dortmund last season. It’s a factor that will certainly play on his mind as he looks to recapture some of that.
Pro: Squad depth
Dortmund would be thankful to have some strength in depth to call upon, something that has not always been there for them.
Con: Price tag
Dortmund may be unwilling to spend big on Batshuayi this time around. However, if Jadon Sancho does move on this summer, they could have plenty of money to spend.
Con: Ending his Chelsea dream
Only Batshuayi knows which direction he wants to take his career in, but surely he will hold out hope of one day breaking through at Chelsea? A permanent move to Dortmund would end that dream.
