Bayer Leverkusen star Julian Brandt is reportedly a summer target for Real Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool.
The attacking midfielder has long been touted as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting players and according to claims from Bild, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, he could be on the move at the end of the season.
Brandt has played well for Peter Bosz’s side throughout the course of the top-flight campaign. He has found the back of the net on four occasions but rather more impressively, he has set up his teammates to score 11 times.
His form for Leverkusen appears to have piqued the interest of three European heavyweights, with a possible summer tug of war set to ensure.
Bild, as per Calciomercato’s report, claims that Brandt’s contract at the club contains a release clause worth €25 million, a more than affordable outlay for any of the three aforementioned teams.
Leverkusen will be desperate to keep hold of the playmaker, with his fellow attacking midfielder Kai Havertz also linked with a summer departure from the club.
Assessing the possible destinations for Brandt this summer
A move to Real Madrid would be a massive step for Brandt. He’d potentially struggle for game time, with Isco and Marco Asensio still quality options for Zinedine Zidane.
Juventus could be looking to add creative impetus to their ranks, and Brandt fits the bill. He’d provide the Italian giants with an added dimension of inventiveness in central areas.
Liverpool could be the perfect place for Brandt to take his game to the next level. The Reds are well rounded but remain in need of a playmaker, and the German would refine Jurgen Klopp’s midfield options.
Alternatively, Brandt could simply stay put at Leverkusen. He is developing well and is still a talismanic figure for his side, so remaining at the club could be a smart choice.
