Liverpool have re-entered the race to sign Benfica youngster Francisco Reis Ferreira, who is also said to be a target for Borussia Dortmund.
According to Sport Witness, via Record, the Reds have made contact with the Portuguese side for the second time to discuss a potential deal for Ferreira, who is on the radar’s of Dortmund and Manchester City respectively.
The defender, who is known as Ferro in Portugal, signed a contract extension earlier this season after impressing during his first and second team performances for the Portuguese side.
Ferro’s new contract reportedly includes a €100m release clause and extends his deal with Benfica to 2023.
Liverpool reportedly attempted to sign the 21-year-old two years ago on an initial loan deal, with an option to buy the defender for €10m; an offer Benfica turned down.
And the Portuguese side have rebuffed the Reds once again, according to the report, as Dortmund keep an eye on proceedings.
