Bayern Munich have been given a boost ahead of the second-leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Liverpool with the news that the Reds will be without midfielder Naby Keita, who has been ruled out with a minor injury.
James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo reports that Keita’s yet unspecified injury is not a serious one, but it’s enough for the Guinean to miss the game in Germany.
There had been a clamour for Jurgen Klopp to select Keita in the game from certain sections of the fan base, but the manager will now need to chose any three of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum to make up his midfield for the clash at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich earned a 0-0 draw at Anfield in the first leg so know that any type of victory will see them advance to the quarter-final, whereas Liverpool will go through with any win or a score draw.
A 0-0 draw after 90 minutes will see the game go to extra time.
