Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben is set to be ruled out of the club’s clash with Liverpool in the Champions League next week.
Robben suffered a thigh injury in November and is yet to make his return to first-team action, due to a number of set-backs along the way.
According to Bild, via Sport Witness, Robben is set to miss both of Bayern’s clashes with Liverpool in the Champions League, with the first leg taking place at Anfield next Tuesday.
Speaking to Bild, Bayern doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt said this:
It’s still not good. We try everything, but at the moment it is not so good. Unfortunately, that’s exactly the problem, that they do not know exactly what it is. It’s really difficult.
Liverpool reached the final of the Champions League last season, only to lose to Real Madrid, so know what it takes to win in Europe – providing stern competition for Bayern in this crucial tie.
