Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter has emerged as a target for both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The centre-back appears to have caught the attention of clubs from across Europe recently, with the Premier League duo touted as two interested parties in securing his signature.
Ginter has long been an integral part of Monchengladbach’s starting line-up, but a move to the Premier League could present itself as a possibility in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal’s defensive woes have been documented throughout the season so far, with the likes of Shkodran Mustafi failing to convince under Unai Emery. Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Laurent Koscielny, too, are nearing the twilight periods of their respective careers.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are well-stocked with options in central defence but could be wary of Toby Alderweireld’s contractual situation.
The Belgian international’s contract at Spurs runs until 2020 but, as per the report from Sky Sports, has a release clause set at only £25 million this summer.
