Tottenham are in the market for a new striker as they prepare to let both Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente leave the club and they’ve reportedly identified Hertha Berlin’s Davie Selke as a replacement.
According to reports in Germany, the 23-year-old is on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar after his excellent 2017/18 season, where he scored 14 goals in 31 games in all competitions.
Southampton are also said to be interested in the former German U21 international, who has seemingly fallen out of favour with Hertha this season.
He’s found himself on the bench more often than not, and as such he is “ready to talk” to any interested parties, especially Spurs.
Saints boss Ralph Hasenhüttl knows Selke well having sold him to Hertha in 2017 and he’d be keen on working with him again at St Mary’s.
However, should Spurs make an official approach, the German would reportedly choose a move to them over a switch to Southampton.
