According to reports coming out of Argentina, Borussia Dortmund have submitted a bid for Boca Juniors Defender Leonardo Balderi.
The 19-year-old defender was subject to interest in the summer by both Juventus and Barcelona, however, it seems that Dortmund have won the signature of the Argentine U20 international.
With defender Manuel Akanji looking likely to miss out the rest of the season with an injury and Omer Toprak being tipped to move on in the summer the news of an incoming defender is no surprise to BVB fans; especially in a season where the club are rare title contenders and sit at the top of the Bundesliga.
A centre-back by trade Balderi has earned his name in South America to be one of the league’s most promising, tough tackling yet technically gifted players.
Despite his value currently standing at €2.5 million, reports emerging out of South America suggest a bid between €10 to €18 million has been put in by the German giants.
