Napoli have joined Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign defender Benjamin Pavard, according to reports in Germany.
Pavard, who played at right-back for France in the summer as the won the World Cup, had offers to leave Stuttgart last summer but he decided to stay with the Bundesliga side for another season.
However, the interest in him has not cooled and Napoli are reportedly making a push to sign him as they hope to beat Bayern and Spurs for his signature.
The 22-year-old has played in a number of roles at Stuttgart, including right-back, centre-back, defensive midfield and right wing but he’s been slotted in as a centre-back since manager Tayfun Korkut took charge in January 2018.
The asking price for the versatile Frenchman is reportedly €35m, a fee which could be seen as a bargain for some in an era where players move for huge fees in each transfer window.
