Inter Milan are in no hurry to tie Milan Skriniar down to a new contract at San Siro, according to claims from Tuttosport, as cited by Calciomercato.
The Slovakia international has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich among several other top European clubs in recent weeks, but Inter want to retain his services.
In the past two seasons, Skriniar has emerged as one of Serie A’s most coveted central defenders, with the player having cemented his place in Luciano Spalletti’s starting line-up.
Bayern are believed to be on the lookout for a new central defender and previous reports had indicated that Skriniar was among the options they were considering moving for.
Tuttosport’s story claims that Inter are well aware that they will need to increase Skriniar’s current salary of €1.5 million per year, but that they are not yet in a rush to advance contract talks.
Bayern’s interest in Skriniar has been well documented but other prestigious sides across Europe are believed to also be keen. Manchester United have recently been linked with a move for the centre-back.
