The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
Speaking to Bild, as cited on Goal, the club’s sporting director Jonas Boldt has confirmed that the Jamaican winger will remain with the Bundesliga outfit in the new year.
Boldt reveals that the club are anticipating the player moving on in the near future, but they remain confident about keeping hold of him for the time being.
We all know that Leon will eventually go, but we have made it clear that a winter change is out of the question, and he also knows that he has our backing.
Bailey has been heavily linked with a move away from Leverkusen, with Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United all touted as potential suitors to sign the player.
Liverpool and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the past.
The Bundesliga side are once again expected to face a fight to keep hold of the player when the summer transfer window swings around at the end of the season.
