Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus leads the nominations for the Bundesliga’s Player of the Month award, FourFourTwo reports.
RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thorgan Hazard and Alassane Plea, Werder Bremen captain Max Kruse and Hertha Berlin’s Ondrej Duda all join Reus in the running for the award.
After being appointed the new captain of Borussia Dortmund, Reus has lifted his side to the top of the Bundesliga table after seven games and scored twice in Dortmund’s 7-0 thrashing of Nurnberg last month to reach 100 goals scored for the club.
Fellow German international Werner also scored two in one game last month as Leipzig prevailed 3-2 winners over Hannover.
Kruse rivals the pair after scoring in wins over Augsburg and Hertha Berlin, and is joined by Gladbach duo Plea and Hazard who netted four and three September goals respectively to earn their nominations.
Hertha Berlin forward Ondrej Duda is the final name on the list after his hit the back of the net on five occasions to help Hertha to their best ever Bundesliga start, gaining 13 points from six games.
