Liverpool could land Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze in January, with reports suggesting Jurgen Klopp is considering a move for the player.
German outlet Kicker claim that Klopp could move for the player in January. Gotze is said to be among a list of potential targets for the Reds boss.
Meanwhile, former Borussia Dortmund defender Kevin Grosskreutz has talked up the chances of seeing Gotze at Anfield, claiming it could be a great career move for the German, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Grosskreutz believes that a move to Anfield could bring the best out of the World Cup winner, who has struggled since re-joining Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich.
Gotze has been hampered with injuries and illnesses that have seen his development as a player stall.
Maybe it would be good for him to go abroad in the winter to find a bit more peace and bring his career back on track. Klopp knows him quite well, he would be a good fit for Liverpool.
The 26-year-old has spoken his desire to work with Jurgen Klopp previously. They were successful in their time together at Dortmund, before the attacker left for Bayern Munich.
As reported by Express, Gotze was quoted in the summer saying:
And I was also interested in working with him again. He is a world-class coach and that’s why it’s always an option. I decided to join Borussia Dortmund (from Bayern), but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp.
