Manchester United and Bayern Munich target Ante Rebic has put pen to paper on a new deal with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Pete O’Rourke reports that the Croatian international has committed his future to the Bundesliga club until 2022.
Both United and Bayern had been heavily linked with Rebic when it looked as if he would leave the German club this summer.
He was being heavily linked with a move after impressing at the World Cup in Croatia, playing a key role in their route to the final.
United had earmarked Rebic as a potential target as they went in search of a new right-sided winger.
Both Rebic and Willian were believed to be targeted by the club, but Frankfurt were thought to be asking around £50 million for the Croatian.
Niko Kovac was thought to be keen on taking the player to Bayern with him, but the club baulked at his asking price.
