Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has said that the club won’t make a move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Ante Rebic, Alfredo Pedulla who quote Bild report.

Rebic was one of the stars of this summer’s World Cup in Russia, helping Croatia reach the final for the first time in their history.

The forward has attracted a lot of interest on the back of his outstanding international displays, with both Bayern Munich and Manchester United being linked with the player.

However, Bayern boss Kovac has now ruled out a move for Rebic, with the club expecting Polish striker Robert Lewandowski to remain at the club beyond the summer.

Rebic has a strong personality and is a great player, who has grown a lot in the last two years in Frankfurt and especially during the World Cup. But if you look at our team, it is clear that there is a lot of people for that role, all players of excellent quality.

Therefore committing ourselves to bringing Rebic to Bayern would make no sense to us, at least for now. Then in the future we’ll see.

About Lewandowski? It’s true that Robert and I spoke last week. We both know what we think about each other. He is certainly among the best three strikers in the world. I told him that we will not easily give up if any club come forward. Robert has agreed to stay and I am very happy with this.
