Man City have joined the race to sign Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard according to reports in Germany.
Duddeutsche Zeitung, via Sky Sports, report that City are interested in signing the defender, who is currently on international duty with France.
Pavard scored in France’s knockout round win over Argentina with a sensational goal from long range that levelled the game for France before their eventual victory.
The defender is versatile and can play across the defence, at centre back and at fullback.
However, City aren’t the only team interested in Pavard, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also taking a look at the defender, as he prepares to face Belgium in the World Cup semi-final next week.
Pavard was part of the Stuttgart side that secured a seventh placed finish in the Bundesliga last season after returning to the top flight at the first time of asking in 2017. Pavard looks set to leave the German side, however, with so much interest from top sides.
