According to the Birmingham Mail, Wolves have been linked with a switch for Leverkusen stopper Bernd Leno.
Leno, who was named in Germany’s provisional World Cup squad, won the Confederations Cup with his national side last Summer and is one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga.
The Leverkusen ‘Keeper faces stiff competition for a spot in the side. Kevin Trapp of PSG, Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich and Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen will all compete with Leno for a spot on the plane to Russia.
Leno has Champions League experience, alongside over 300 appearances for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.
Wolves could be looking to move for the German, with a new goalkeeper on Nuno’s radar as the Black Country side look to strengthen for the Premier League.
German reports also state that Atletico Madrid are interested in Leno, with the club wary of interest in stopper Jan Oblak this Summer. If the Slovenian was to leave, Diego Simeone would reportedly target Leno as his replacement.
