Wolves are after £1.7m-a-year playmaker Renato Sanches after the player asked agent Jorge Mendes for a switch.

The Championship club are looking to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder as he looks set for another move this summer after a very disappointing season on loan at the now relegated Swansea.

Portuguese outlet DN claims on their website that Sanches, who is now 20 asked his agent Jorge Mendes for a move back to Benfica. Bayern Munich however would only sell the player on a permanent basis rather than loaning him out again.

It is widely reported that Sanches earns £1.7m a year at Bayern and the German club want, at least, £17m to let him leave.

Newly promoted Wolves are going to be linked with a lot of players this summer, with the majority of the players they are linked with being clients of the super-agent Jorge Mendes. Sanches is only 20-years-old and he does have a lot of potential, which was clear to see with his performances at the Euro 2016 championships where he won with Portugal.

After a very poor season with Swansea though it may be wise for Nuno Espirito Santo to avoid the young Portuguese international as Wolves look to bring in proven Premier League quality.

Wolves have another Portuguese star Ruben Neves running their midfield at the minute and there are doubts as to whether Sanches would even get in the starting XI for the ambitious Black Country club.

One thing for certain is Wolves will be looking to bring in some quality players this summer as they look to finish highly in their first season back in the Premier League since the Fosun takeover.
