Manchester City are eyeing a swoop for Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Citizens have secured the Premier League title this season and are believed to be making plans ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, with targets for the summer transfer window already being lined up.
Pep Guardiola is said to be keen on adding yet more quality to his City squad and in doing so, the Mail report that he has picked out Spain international Thiago as a feasible target.
The City boss worked alongside the midfielder in his only other two tenures in management at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and it seems he is intent on reuniting with Thiago once again this summer.
Thiago, who remains a key member of the Bayern squad, is said to be a £50m target for City as they aim to replenish their midfield options with greater youth, as the likes of David Silva, Fernandinho and Yaya Toure approach the latter stages of their careers.
