Real Madrid face a battle to land Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, as the German side would prefer to sell to Premier League side Chelsea, according to Bleacher Report.
The Polish striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga and both clubs are said to be watching his situation with interest.
Munich are cautious about the idea of selling to Real Madrid, who are direct rivals to them in the Champions League, a trophy they are desperate to get their hands on again.
Past reports have suggested Lewandowksi has dreamt of a move to Madrid after missing out on a switch earlier in his career.
The Blues look set to miss out on Champions League football next season, and while that could limit the pool of players they can attract, they would not be seen as a rival in Europe for Bayern.
The report claims that a move to Stamford Bridge is not out of the question, despite the signings of both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud in recent months.
