Borussia Dortmund are still in negotiations with FC Basel for their young defender Manuel Akanji, however, the price is still believed to be an issue, according to Swiss outlet Blick.
Akanji, 22, has been in impressive form for FC Basel this season and has caught the eye of Dortmund manager, Peter Stoger along with multiple teams across Europe, including Liverpool, Tottenham and fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
It has been reported that the Swiss side are looking for more than €30 million for the defender, who started both legs of Switzerland’s World Cup play-off against Northern Ireland.
Dortmund are believed to be weighing up an offer the highly-rated youngster, as they look to bolster their defensive options.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is thought to be extremely keen on the player, however, if negotiations between Dortmund and Basel go well, we could see Akanji pull on the famous yellow shirt in the Bundesliga very soon.
