Bayern Munich have been linked with two soon-to-be free agent midfielders in recent times but one of them seems to have made their decision on a potential move to the Allianz Arena.
Italian source Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Calciomercato, report that Bayer made an approach to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can but the Germany international has rejected the Bundesliga leaders in favour of a move to Juventus.
Can’s contract at Anfield expires in the summer and his representatives remain in talks with Juventus regarding a move which looks certain to happen sooner or later.
Liverpool signed Can in a £10m deal from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014 but the Confederations Cup winner came through the youth ranks at Bayern who were clearly keen to re-sign their former prodigy.
Schalke star Leon Goretzka is another midfielder the reigning Bundesliga champions are eager to sign, but they face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal for his signature. Manchester City also had an approach turned down for Can, the report claims.
