Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has admitted that his side are lining up a summer swoop for Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, FourFourTwo reports.
The Italian giants have been heavily linked with Goretzka in recent months, and Marotta has confirmed reports suggesting that they will look to lure the German international to Serie A.
Goretzka, who has also attracted interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, is set to run down his contract at Schalke, with him then becoming a free agent in the summer.
It looks as though Juventus are adamant that they will secure a central midfielder in the near future, with Goretzka and Liverpool midfielder Emre Can on their radar.
They are available for free at the end of the season. We are interested and we’ll make an attempt but it all depends on their will.
Goretzka will not be short of choices when the summer does come around, though. A host of top European sides have been linked with the combative midfielder, including Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool.
The 22-year-old has been promising this season and has established himself on the international stage with Germany.
