Three Premier League sides, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, all enquired about the availability of Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller during the summer transfer window, according to SportsBILD.

For all three sides to submit an enquiry, there must have been some indications that the German star was available but in the end, Bayern Munich decided to keep the man who has scored almost 100 goals for them.

By his own admission, Muller had a poor season last year, scoring only five league goals and the arrival of James Rodriguez on loan threatens to reduce his playing time.

It is not clear if the enquiries made for Muller were for permanent transfers or for loans but either way, Bayern decided to keep hold of the German international in the hope that he can turn recover from his season and get back to the form which made him one of the most impactful players in Europe.
