Liverpool are interested in a possible summer move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, according to a report from Simon Jones of The Mail.
The 21-year-old only arrived at Leipzig in the summer as the club paid €10m to make them their record signing and he’s proven to be great value for money.
He has scored 14 goals and has seven assists in 23 Bundesliga matches already this season as Leipzig have battled to find themselves in second place in the German top flight.
According to the report, Liverpool have been scouting the German side a lot this season with midfielder Naby Keita and winger Emil Forsberg also said to be targets, but Wener’s impressive performances have caught the eye.
He very much looks like a forward who could thrive in Jurgen Klopp’s system as he can play anywhere across the front three whilst he also used to being a player who presses in the way Klopp wants.
Werner only signed a four year contract in the summer and with Leipzig looking like they’ll be playing Champions League football next season, Liverpool might find it tough to get a deal done.
