Antonio Conte is aiming to bring in two wing-backs at Chelsea this January and Cologne’s Jonas Hector ranks highly on the list of potential suitors.
A Times’ exclusive revealed that West Ham’s Michail Antonio and the German international are both top of Conte’s wish list as he seeks some defensive reinforcements.
Hector is a full German international and has attracted plenty of interest from around Europe following his performances for Cologne.
The 26-year-old has been at Cologne since 2013 and made over 100 appearances for the club.
Conte is hoping to add more competition for places following the performances of Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso during the defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Chelsea did recall Nathan Ake from his loan spell at Bournemouth and it looks like he could fill a space if wing-backs are not signed in the January window, while he can also play as a central defender.
While the Blues have been on an impressive winning streak prior to their defeat to Tottenham, they lack depth in the defensive areas.
