Borussia Monchengladbach have asked midfielder Havard Nordtveit to make a decision on his future by the end of February, with both Arsenal and Liverpool rumoured to be interested in signing him.
The Norwegian international’s contract expires in the summer, meaning he’ll be free to leave the Bundesliga side, but they remain hopeful of offering him a new contract.
Nordtveit had a short spell at Arsenal early in his career, but he was unable to force his way into the first team, however, it appears that they’ve been impressed by his development and are keen to take him back on a free transfer.
Whilst Nordtveit is not obligated to make his mind up straight away, Monchengladbach want to start planning for the future and need to know if they need to bring in another defensive midfielder.
The Express report that the Gunners and Liverpool are keeping an eye on proceedings and both are free to speak with the player’s representatives about a move in the summer.
