Chelsea are expected to announce that the Italian national team manager Antonio Conte will take over at Stamford Bridge for the start of next season and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, he’s expected to make a huge push to bring one of his former players, Arturo Vidal, with him.

Conte managed Vidal at Juventus and although he features regularly for Bayern Munich, Chelsea think they have a chance to bring him to England.

According to Di Marzio, the Blues sent scouts to watch him face his former side in the Champions League on Tuesday night and are possibly thinking that Pep Guardiola’s decision to leave might tempt him to also make a switch to England.

The 28-year-old Chilean international is under contract with Bayern until 2019, so if Chelsea do want him, they’ll need to stump up a huge transfer bid, which is not out of the question as Roman Abramovic will be eager to get his side competing at the top of the Premier League table once again.
