Bayern Munich attacker Mario Götze could still move to Liverpool after the club’s technical director, Matthias Sammer, refused to rule a transfer out.
Götze of course worked with Jürgen Klopp during his time at Borussia Dortmund and it was reported just a few days ago that the Reds were interested in reuniting player with manager.
Talk of a €50m bid may have been premature, but the noises coming from Munich suggest all is not lost if Liverpool and Klopp do indeed fancy a move for Götze.
Götze openly discussed the need to resolve his future at the club, for which his game time recently has been far below what he would have hoped for.
Sammer agreed, saying:
He has put a few things up for discussion and we will clarify everything in the second half of the season. A lot of things will have been resolved by then.
Crunch talks may be on their way, but Liverpool – and other potential suitors – will be keeping an eye on developments as we head towards the summer.
