Alvaro Dominguez could be on his way out of Gladbach following a three-year spell at the Foals, after reports said that English side Aston Villa were interested in the centre-back.

As well as Aston Villa, Italian club Napoli are looking into the Spanish defender according to Goal information.

The site reported that he will cost Aston Villa, if a bid is made, around six to seven million euros. However, he still has two years remaining on his current contract in Germany.

With the additions of Andreas Christensen, Nico Elvedi and Nico Schulz this means that the competition for starting places in Lucian Favre’s side will be limited. Last season, Dominguez played thirty-four appearances in all competitions, twenty-four of which in the Bundesliga.

Aston Villa have five centre backs currently in their squad (Micah Richards, Philippe Senderos, Nathan Baker, Ciaran Clark and Jores Okore) Dominguez would add experience into the side as the 26-year old is close to 100 appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach but he also made 120 for Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
