Usain Bolt is set for a three week stay at Borussia Dortmund as he chase his dream of being a professional footballer.
The former athletics champion, an avid Manchester United fan, is set for a second spell with the German side after having a trial with the team last month.
Bolt is set to return to Dortmund to help him improve his game and to assess his progress. The Jamaican insists his dream is “no joke”.
Speaking to the Herald Sun at the Commonwealth Games in Australia, Bolt said:
“It’s a big deal – everyone feels like I’m just kidding around, just joking, but I’m serious.
I’m actually going back to Dortmund in a couple of weeks, to work with them for three more weeks. I need to assess myself at a better level to see what level I’m at, what I need to do and if I can. That’s something I’m focused on.
Bolt confirmed that football is his sole focus now, ruling out any return at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
