Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been in good form for Leeds since arriving at Elland Road from Hamburg on loan.
The towering German forward has found the net on eight occasions so far in the Championship from only 14 starts, and has also managed to contribute with a total of three assists.
Lasogga made the move to England in the hope of securing first-team football on a regular basis and he has established himself as a fans’ favourite at Leeds.
However, whether or not he will put pen to paper on a permanent deal at Elland Road remains to be seen, with Lasogga himself also coy over his chances of joining.
Speaking to German news outlet Sport Bild, as cited by Leeds Live, the 26-year-old delivered an update on his future.
I don’t worry about that yet. Not until the end of May, when the season is over. Everything else would be wasted energy. Finally, I have one more year contract in Hamburg. And I wish that HSV remains in the Bundesliga.
Leeds are currently stated to be paying only £15,000 worth of Lasogga’s £50,000 per week wages at Hamburg, which has thrown any permanent swoop for him into doubt given the club’s precarious financial position.
However, many Leeds fans want Lasogga to join and it seems he is enjoying his time in the Championship with the club.
In Hamburg, I was on ice. I didn’t get a chance and probably spent most of my time watching. If you only play for five minutes, then spend several months without a goal, it nags your self-confidence.
It was important for me to just have fun again, to be successful and to have an environment that is 100 percent dedicated to me. That’s the case here.
