Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig are both interested in signing West Ham defender Reece Oxford this summer.

The London Evening Standard reports that Oxford, who is currently on loan at Gladbach, is attracting interest from Leipzig, while Max Eberl has also expressed his desire to sign the player permanently.

The Gladbach director told the official Bundesliga website:

Reece is very happy here and we’re very happy that he’s got another half-season with us, there is a third party, though, West Ham, who have a contract with Reece. Of course, we accept that. Hope springs eternal.

Eberl has become known for his desire to bring in younger Premier League and predominantly English players to the Bundesliga in recent years.

Oxford spent the first half of the season on loan in the Bundesliga but struggled to hold down a regular place in the side.

During January he returned to the London Stadium and even featured in the FA Cup for the Hammers, however, he completed another loan move back to Germany for the second half of the season.
