Arturo Vidal has reportedly snubbed Chelsea in order to stay at Bayern Munich, where he wishes to win the treble with the Bundesliga giants, according to the Daily Star.
Antonio Conte wished for a reunion with his old midfielder from his time at Juventus, where the pair won three Serie A titles, and the Italian manager was prepared to bid £32.5m to bring the Chilean to West London.
However, Vidal doesn’t wish to reunite with Conte, as Bayern are on course to do a treble, and he wishes to have three medals in the bag at the end of the season.
Jupp Heynckes’ men remain on course for a win in the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal and the Champions League.
Vidal remains a vital part of Bayern’s team this season, despite having a vast number of midfielders such as Thiago Alcantara, James Rodriguez, Niklas Tarnat, Niklas Dorsch, etc.
The Chilean midfielder has featured in every game for Bayern Munich this season in all competitions bar four, for two of which he was injured and one he was suspended.
After hearing about the potential move to Chelsea, Vidal said (via Daily Star):
Yes, I’ve heard about it, but I’m fully focused on the season with Bayern and I’m only looking day-to-day.
We’re a great team and we have big goals. We want to win every trophy. That’s what my focus is.
So Vidal looks to have snubbed his old boss, but it will be shown if he was right to do so when Bayern complete the season with however many trophies Vidal has to add to his collection.
