Bayern Munich are eager to sign another forward in the January transfer window to ease the load on Robert Lewandowski and their search has taken them to Ligue 1.
According to Salzburger Nachrichten, the Bundesliga leaders are interested in signing Lyon’s Willem Geubbels this month, but face competition from the Premier League as Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are also looking to sign him.
The report claims that Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg are eager to sign the 16-year-old but his agent has told them not to bother given the interest from huge Champions League clubs.
Geubbels has made four appearances for Lyon this season after breaking into the first-team and because the youngest player to feature in the Europa League in the process.
Primarily a left-winger, Geubbels can operate on the opposite flank or through the middle and is considered as one of the best young attackers in Europe, and it would be a tough ask for Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Tottenham or Liverpool to persuade the French side into an early sale.
