Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on Hoffenheim full-back Jeremy Toljan as the young German is set to stay in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, according to a report in the Mirror.
Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Toljan had a decision between the Premier League and the Bundesliga and has opted to remain in the German top flight.
The full-back was also a target of Italian giants Juventus but has chosen to join Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham were keen to sign Toljan after losing their star right-back Kyle Walker to Premier League rivals Manchester City but now have to pursue other targets as Toljan looks set to complete his move to Dortmund.
Toljan looked like a good replacement for Walker and was available for a very decent price, but Spurs’ transfer woes continue as they have not signed a single player yet this summer.
Toljan gained a lot of attention after his performances for the Germany U21 side this summer as they cruised to victory in the U21 European Championships.
The youngster was also a key figure as Hoffenheim claimed a fourth placed finish in the Bundesliga last season which led them to the UEFA Champions League play-offs, where they will face Liverpool.
