Brighton haven’t wasted any time on their summer recruitment ahead of their first season in the Premier League.

The south coast club have announced that they have agreed a deal to sign Ingolstadt attacking midfielder Pascal Gross in the summer.

Gross has impressed in the Bundesliga this season, scoring four goals and contributing six assists in 32 appearances.

The 25-year-old will be joining Brighton from July 1st and manager Chris Hughton has spoken out about the signing:

We are delighted that Pascal has opted to sign for us, amid interest from a number of clubs from the Premier League and across Europe, and I am pleased to welcome him to the club.

He offers something different to our existing midfielders, as an attacking midfielder in a more advanced position, operating behind the forward line; he will give us a different and new option going into the new season.

Gross, a former German U20 international came through the ranks at Hoffenheim before making a move to Karlsruher in January 2011 where he spent 18 months prior to completing a free transfer move to Ingolstadt.

Having signed a four-year contract with the Seagulls, Gross will add a real goal threat in the Brighton midfield.
