Douglas Costa hasn’t been a regular starter for Bayern Munich this season and could be made available for transfer in the summer.
Costa moved to the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2015 in a £21m deal from Shakhtar Donetsk and has contributed 27 assists and 14 goals in 74 appearances for the club across all competitions.
However, this season he’s made just 17 starts in all competitions and is growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of regular playing time.
“It depends on a few factors. The main factor being minutes played. I cannot comment on names, but there are contacts with teams from England, Spain and also France. But we respect Bayern. I am still under contract until 2020,” Costa said.
The 26-year-old winger has admitted that he’s an admirer of the Premier League which could play a part in any decision he makes over his future in the summer.
“I think England is one of the biggest leagues in the world – fantastic! The language is easier in Spain but England also has great player. For me it is the best league in the world.”
It’s understood that Bayern may field bids in the region of £25-30m for Costa in the summer which certainly puts him in Tottenham’s price range.
