Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, according to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The central midfielder only has 18 months left on his contract – which expires in 2018 – and it’s been reported that the likes of Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are interested in him. Juventus are also another club linked with the German.

There has been no movement on Goretzka agreeing a contract extension at Schalke, and he will be on the radar of many English clubs during the summer.

It has been understood that Schalke will demand a fee of around £25m for the 22-year old, who has impressed so far this term.

He has scored on seven occasions this season in thirty-four appearances; and has also been capped by the German national team on three occasions.

Many have regarded Goretzka as one of the brightest talents in German football – possessing a potent, sweet right foot. Many have pinpointed his aerial ability too, which sees him win so many duels.

He can be deployed as a playmaker, winger or defensive midfielder; possessing the stamina to play in a box to box midfield role.

Peter Neururer, his head coach at VfL Bochum, dubbed him as the ‘talent of the century’ in his short stint at the club.

With a potential like Goretzka’s, it’s not difficult to see why he is so in demand.

It looks like Spurs are the team with the most interest in him, but Arsenal and Everton could also look to get a deal done.
