Spain international and Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra is recovering in hospital after a successful wrist operation following an explosive attack on the Dortmund team coach that was heading to their huge Champions League clash against Monaco. The defender’s father and the club has confirmed the news.
The 26-year-old, who was hit by flying glass after three explosions shattered the Dortmund’s team bus, was rushed to hospital and had to undergo surgery on his hand, which was thankfully successful for the Spanish international.
The Spaniard updated his fans on social media outlet Instagram, thanking the people of Dortmund and around the world for the support he was shown throughout the tough night.
The centre-back, who has made 14 appearances for Dortmund since joining from Barcelona last summer, will miss the rearranged fixture with Monaco, with German Sports outlet Bild claiming he could be out for the rest of the season.
