Jurgen Klopp always has his eye on the future and he’s keeping tabs on one of Germany’s finest young talents.

Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has really rose to prominence over the last 18 months and Liverpool are considering making a move for the youngster in the summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool have had scouts watch the 20-year-old attacker frequently this season and have come away impressed.

The £20m-rated German international is also wanted by Bayern Munich meaning the Reds have a tough task ahead of them to sign Brandt.

Speaking to BILD, Brandt recent stated that he wouldn’t be scared to reject Bayern Munich again, or any club for that matter, and that a new contract with Leverkusen remains a possibility.

“I would not be scared to dismiss Bayern for a second time,” Brandt told BILD. “The same goes for other clubs too.”

“Of course that is possible [to sign a new contract]. I feel very comfortable here and I know what I’ve got here.

“I don’t want to deal with this [speculation] forever. It gets annoying and performances will suffer because of it.”

A young attacker remains on Klopp’s wish-list and Liverpool are still interested in signing Christian Pulisic from Dortmund.
