The end of the international break meant that the Bundesliga was back again, and we were delighted it returned.
It is fair to say the Bundesliga sprung up excitement and a surprise or two.
On the second matchday of the Bundesliga season, we finally saw the future of Red Bull Leipzig – Oliver Burke and Naby Keita in action and Werder Bremen welcomed their new star Serge Gnabry.
Bayern Munich went into the second matchday top of the Bundesliga season after their 6-0 win over Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and Köln were joint second but with the two meeting on matchday two, only one of the two could be joint second.
The bottom three consisted of FC Augsburg and SV Darmstadt who both suffered 2-0 defeats on the opening day which meant that they were joint 16th and Werder Bremen were on the foot of the table after their 6-0 demolishing.
Gameweek 2 saw; Schalke host Bayern Munich, on Friday, Wolfsburg entertain FC Köln, Hamburger SV travel to the BayArena to play Bayer Leverkusen, Darmstadt and Eintracht Frankfurt face off in the Hessen Derby, Freiburg play Borussia Mönchengladbach, RedBull Leipzig’s home debut in the Bundesliga against Borussia Dortmund and on Sunday, Werder Bremen and Mainz host FC Augsburg and Hoffenheim respectively.
