Arsenal are set to pay a club record fee of £63.2m in the summer for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to French news outlet Le10 Sport.
The Gabonese striker has had a great season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring a massive total of 32 goals in 36 games, keeping them in the title fight against Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich.
Aubameyang has already ruled out a move to rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and it looks as though Arsenal will enter a bidding war to strengthen their attacking options.
The 26-year-old is currently contracted to remain in Germany until 2020, which means that Borussia Dortmund don’t have a reason to sell. A bid of up to £63 million could make Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel consider his options however.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players this season, including Serie A striker Gonzalo Higuain and Chelsea’s Domingos Quina, the latter the Gunners are believed to have already sealed a deal for.
